Forged By Chaos, developed by the Moscow team Panzar Studio, is a very atypical project for both the Russian and world gaming industry. Many of its components seem familiar, but when pieces of mosaic are formed into a single whole, they give birth to a gameplay unique for the genre. Forged by Chaos Often called "Russian Team Fortress 2 in fantasy surroundings". This is partly true, but only partly. The project is much larger. The game is a breathtaking command of PVP-boys on interesting arenas and is not limited to banal scenarios "Kill them all". There are five types of fights – dominance, messenger, assault, king of the mountain, command battle – and each of them has its own scenarios and maps.

The game has four races that divide eight classes among themselves, two into each each. Each of the classes has a unique set of skills and, as a result, a unique style of fighting. Features of the arenus allow you to reveal the ability of the class and effectively apply them. The characters develop as in RPG, gain levels, teach skills and change equipment.

Coliseum. At first glance – an ordinary arena. But at a certain moment, the Earth falls into the abyss, and the players remaining on the tiny platform in the center determine the outcome of the battle on the map.

Behind graphic beauty stands, rubbing the pens, Cryengine 3. You heard a lot of talk about the fact that the graphics in the online must be wretched-for such objective reasons?.. Forget. It remains only to make sure that the developers will be able to optimize the system requirements for medium -fitting machines.

Questions about chaos and for life

After participating in beta testing and charging with positive emotions, we turned to the developers from Panzar Studio with questions. For the most part, we answered Nikolai Borzov , Head of Public Relations Department. And where the case concerned the artistic part, the burden of answers took upon himself Alexander Steshenko , Forged by Chaos art director that determines its visual part.

[Gambling XP] Why did you decide to create Forged by Chaos?

Our studio has long been creating computer graphics for third parties. These were introductory videos, game, a lot of models and art were created, respectively – a lot was drawn for themselves. Over time, they began to realize that the accumulated material is enough to create their own game.

[Gambling xp] for whom the project is designed?

All those who want to come home after studying, work and relax in the game. Do not spend days, weeks, months and years in it, but play a couple of hours and go further. It is for this reason that we chose the format of the session team.

Who said that fantasy and machine guns are incompatible? I found a better place, built a turret, and sit for yourself, watering the battlefield of a hail of bullets!

[Gambling XP] Why fantasy is not particularly popular with militants developers?

It is difficult to implement hand -to -hand combat at a qualitative level, and indeed battles at the near distance. In fantasy worlds, you practically do not meet “snipers”, more and more knights and monsters that shred each other with swords and claws.

This is very difficult to implement both from a technical point of view, especially in online and from artistic.

[Gambling XP] The game uses a powerful engine and is relatively demanding on the system. Is it planned to release a customer version for weaker computers, for example, with worsened textures or settings will allow the players to set the schedules for their capabilities of their PC?

Closer to the release in the game there will be detailed settings of graphics, and we will also make textures with less resolution, which will allow the owners of not so advanced computers to play comfortably.

In general, we have to do a lot of work to optimize the game. Now the performance varies very strongly from the system to the system: for example, I have a 8800GT card at home, and everything works at the maximum level of graphics, and the game slows down on some more modern maps and cars. This is a common thing at the development stage, as you understand.

Orcs are the most tenacious characters and are endowed with colossal damage. When they encounter a battlefield, blood sprinkles, thunder thunders, and the most skilled orc wins … unless, of course, the paladin does not intervene.

[Gambling XP] There are opinions that Forged by Chaos is stylistically similar to the Warhammer universe. On the Internet, even a strange rumor swam that the particularly desperate wrote a complaint in Games Workshop ..

We have not heard anything about the complaint and, most likely, GW – too 🙂

If you look from a professional, artistic point of view, then these two projects are completely different. In general, all fantasy are some generalized ideas from various myths and fairy tales. And all of them in various forms appeared in various works. So – no, we don't think that it looks like.

The cards are not assigned a certain time of the day. The battle in the same location can take place both day and night. The most spectacular battles happen at sunset.

[Gambling XP] A little about clans. What are the advantages to the player participation in the clan and whether it is planned to introduce the option of the battles between the clans?

First of all, Panzar: Forged by Chaos is a team game. One coordinated team of middle -level levels does not leave a chance of skillful, but disparate players. For successful actions, it is necessary to coordinate actions, and sometimes understand each other without words, because with our intensity of the battle you can simply not have time to inform your comrades where the danger is approaching.

There will be a certain “global regime” for the clans, where they will fight for the “territory” and glory.

Trying to repair the revival point of his team in order to quickly get on the battlefield, an insidious enemy may well throw logs in order to kill the attackers and disrupt the plan for the restoration of respawn.

[Gambling XP] How often players will interact with the environment to perform game tasks?

Will be, and very often. Almost all cards with complex scenarios have opening gates, traps, building materials, assault guns and much more.

For example, on the Monkey Utes map, attackers can build a “flag”, which will allow them to transfer the Plapauna places closer to the point that must be captured. And the defenders can build additional gates that cover the side passages, roll on attacking logs or burning barrels with explosives. True, attackers can catch a rolling barrel and bring it to the defenders, which often attracts the death of all the defenders 🙂

Inquisitor – perhaps the most spectacular of the classes and the most difficult in mastering. Inquisitors are not intended for frontal attacks. But without them it is impossible to break the enemy defense. Only they are able to creep into the rear of the enemy and cut out magicians and technicians who do not allow the orcs to start the offensive.

[Gambling XP] The most lively question: why are you planning to take money? What kind of goods will the intra -game store offer, how much they will affect the gameplay?

The game will be distributed by free-to-Play model, and we will take money for premium accounts that accelerate pumping. Players at the premium accounts will receive more experience for each battle, but this will not in any way affect the balance of battles.

It will also be possible to buy new emotions, tows, exclusive objects in the store, but exclusivity will only consist of their appearance. You cannot buy a "grenade launcher" for 5 rubles and kill everything that moves! We probably understand that such things kill the balance of the game, and after the balance he leaves.

Unfortunately, we see many games and companies that, in pursuit of fast profit, "stabbed" their projects. And we make maximum efforts so that everyone gets only positive emotions from our game, regardless of whether they spend real money in it or not.

Having met with the berserker, do not be surprised at the quick death. Glorious dies from one blow. Even the block cannot fully protect against a furious attack, and only an equal in terms of orc will be able to repulse at a confrontation.

We have a lot of ideas, much more than we are able to embody to release. Worse, when the vice versa!..
